I retired from Nortel in 1993! It was Nothern Electric when I started in 1957 as an Electronic Technologist graduate of Ryerson Institute of Technology, now Ryerson University. NE then became Northern Telecom, then Nortel and now Nortel Networks but with all their financial troubles, they're still paying my pension!
I started in the Standardbred Racing business in 1957, before I even started to work at NE when I borrowed $200.00 from my Grandmother and bought "Mildred Chips"
She taught me the game and finally produced 9 foals, 8 of which made the races, including "April Magic" who gave me my first winning drive!
I have owned, trained, raced, and raised many Standardbreds including "Quinte Lad" another of "Mildred's" foals who I even stood at stud with a bit of success!
I'm 78 now, folks, and from October of 2012 onwards I haven't had a horse to feed and care for for the first time since June of 1957 !

About "QuintEssentiallyMac" - QEM
I founded QEM in the early 1990's before everybody in the World had a home computor!
It was intended to provide any home computing services that anyone wanted! I did some Income Tax, and produced Flyers, Business Cards, Newsletters, Advertising Posters and cards and even did some model railroad track layout design!
It has now pretty well devolved into the home for MACuisine which BTW is kinda on hold 'til I decide to do a lot of updating to make it compatible with the newer operating systems!
